The North Suburban Chorus (NSC) began in 1976 as a small group of enthusiastic singers led by Johanna Meath of Little Canada. They shared their love of music with senior audiences around the north suburban areas of St. Paul including Roseville, New Brighton, and Arden Hills.
Not long after these simple beginnings, the North Suburban Senior Council offered their financial support and sponsorship by providing rehearsal space at the Fairview Community Center in Roseville. The chorus consequently chose the name: North Suburban Chorus. In 2014 the NSC became an independent entity.
In 2025 we transitioned to a new rehearsal home at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Roseville.
Our singers are seniors aged 60-90. Music performed by the NSC has evolved over the years from songs of the early 1900's to "old standards" from the 30's and 50's to pop songs from the Beatles, Beach Boys and Carpenters of the 60's and 70's. Broadway show tunes and patriotic songs are also commonly part of the program.
